2025 LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS
Most councils in New Zealand are having local government elections in October this year (Except Tauranga which had its by-election last year).
Important dates for the election process are listed below.
Candidate Nominations Open: 4 July 2025
Candidate Nominations Close: Noon, 1 August 2025
Voting Opens: 9 September 2025
Close of Voting: Noon, Saturday 11 October 2025
